NEW DELHI: The second round of discussion on the Tiprasa Accord is scheduled for December 3, 2024, in New Delhi. The discussions will pertain to the charter of demands put forth by the Tipra Motha Party and the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).
The Ministry of Home Affairs, North East Division has issued a formal notice, giving the formal confirmation to that meeting which was already notified on October 30, 2024 and had undergone rescheduling on November 8.
According to an MHA statement, the Joint Working Group meeting under the Tripartite Agreement dated March 2, 2024 involving the Government of India, the Government of Tripura, and TIPRA signed on 2nd March, 2024, now shall meet on 3rd December at 12:00 noon in New Delhi.
To address the long-standing concerns that the tribal population in Tripura has faced, it is expected that the talks would center on significant topics related to the demands of the Tipra Motha Party and the functioning of the TTAADC.
Tipra Motha founder and scion of the royal family, Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma said he will remain firm in the interest of the Tiprasa community.
“Been informed that the second round of talks on the Tiprasa accord will take place on the 3rd of December. I am happy to inform you that this is the second official meeting in a month and a half. The future of our tiprasa cannot be compromised and I will continue to put our communities agenda first and not look at any political favours. We have to realise that the growth of our region and people has to be more important than the rehabilitation of a few leaders,” he said.
