Bishnupur: The first meeting of the Cabinet Sub-Committee for the rehabilitation and resettlement of internally displaced persons (IDPs) resulting from the ongoing crisis in Manipur was held on Thursday at the Conference Hall of the DC Office in Bishnupur district.
Chaired by Minister of Works and YAS, Konthoujam Govindas, the meeting focused on addressing the grievances of IDPs staying in relief camps, assessing their needs, and planning measures for their resettlement and rehabilitation. The committee also discussed the identification of land for the temporary relocation of IDPs.
The meeting was attended by sub-committee members, including Minister of A.H. & Vety. and Transport, Khashim Vashum, and member secretary Gyanprakash Huirem, Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Home). Also present were MLA Moirang AC Thongam Shanti, MLA Thanga AC Tongbram Robindro, MLA Oinam AC Irengbam Nalini Devi, DC Lourembam Bikram, SP Ksh. Ravikumar, ADC H. Bobby Sharma, officials from the District Administration, relief camp committee members, and camp inmates.
