The Manipur Women Gun Survivors Network (MWGSN) inception dates back to December 24, 2004. On Christmas Eve, Ms Binalakshmi Nepram, the founder,witnessed the aftermath of the killing of 27-year-old Buddhi Moirangthem in Wabgai Lamkhai village of Thoubal district, southeast of Manipur's state capital, Imphal.There, a group of three gunmen had dragged Buddhi from his car-battery workshop.Within a matter of minutes they shot him dead.......

Leihao, is a beautiful flower grown in Manipur that symbolizes purity. Manipuris usually offer this to gods and goddesses for bringing peace and prosperity to the society. Also women in Manipur wear Leihao on their hair symbolising happy moments. Hence we have taken Leihao as the brand logo of Manipuri Women Gun Survivors Network to signify product line made by women gun survivors mostly traditional handloom, handicrafts & paintings. Its a humble initiative to provide livelihood and act as a healing touch to the fractured lives of women and children so that their lives can go on with a new found courage. Read More…
